JDW Legal

Privacy notice

How we handle your information.

This notice explains what JDW Legal does with personal information collected through this website and in the course of an enquiry. It is written to be read rather than to protect us.

Who we are

JDW Legal is a legal services consultancy. Our contact details are on the contact page. Our registered details are company number and registered office, and our data protection registration is ICO registration number.

What we collect

If you use the enquiry form, we receive your name, firm, email address, phone number if you give one, and the message itself. The form hands your message to your own email application, so nothing is stored on this website.

If you email or call us instead, we hold whatever you choose to send: your contact details, the content of the correspondence, and anything attached to it.

We do not buy contact lists and we do not add enquirers to a mailing list.

How we use it

We use your information to answer your enquiry, to give you a quote, and to provide the service if you go ahead. We may keep a record of the enquiry so that we do not ask you the same questions twice.

We rely on legitimate interests for responding to an enquiry, and on contract where you engage us. We do not use your information for automated decision making or profiling.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no session recording. The typefaces are served from this site rather than a third party, so visiting a page does not call out to Google or anyone else.

Because nothing non essential is stored on your device, there is no cookie banner. If that changes, this notice and the site will change first.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal information. Where a matter requires a supplier, such as a scanning bureau or an e discovery provider, we tell you before any client material is passed across and we pass only what the work needs.

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver the pages and to protect the site. We use email and office software to run the business, and our professional advisers may see information where necessary.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become work are kept for twelve months and then deleted. If you become a client, we keep the file for the period set out in our terms of business and for as long as our professional and legal obligations require.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to restrict what we do with it. You can object to us relying on legitimate interests.

Ask us first and we will deal with it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this notice changes we will update this page. It was last reviewed on 3 November 2026.
